George Brown Ski

My GoFundMe
Thank you for visiting my GoFundMe fundraising page where you can use the link at the bottom of the page to donate and find out where the vital funds are spent in my journey as a ski racer.
Equipmet
A donation can go towards equipment costs. Whether that be a new set of skis at £1000 or servicing equipment to ensure that my skis are kept on their optimum condition. For example a base grind and restructure to the ski is around £45, with around ten sets of race skis you can easily see where costs can mount up.
Equipment also includes the likes of road bikes, roller blades etc.
Travel
On top of all of the other costs there is of course the cost of getting to Europe and beyond. Flights, fuel, channel crossings all come under this and they soon mount up. A typical flight for a camp in the season is around £200 return.
Training
Training costs as you can imagine are high in ski racing. And are all year round from summer cycling training, year round strength and conditioning, off season indoor training, Southern Hemisphere training and fitness testing.

These all have a cost attributed to them and donations would go a long way to covering that.
Kit
Kit for the season includes, race suits, outer jackets, training shorts, fitness gear, team kit and everything else that is required within the season. Including protection (back protector, shin guards, arm protection etc)
Camps
Camp costs are in the region of £1000 a week to cover accommodation, coaching and lane fees and food for the week. A season is in the region of 25 weeks away from home meaning that the annual budget for this is £25000
Treatment
In a highly physical sport injuries and niggles can happen and there are costs associated with these. Treatment like physiotherapy and sports massage are required not only within rehab, but as preventative treatment as well to maintain top physical fitness and conditioning.
